EVERY LINE
BEGINS
IN PENCIL
The roofline is drawn by hand on film, at full size, before anyone opens a laptop.
Every line of the Halden 60 starts on a drawing board, then goes to clay, the wind tunnel and back again. Halden is a style study, not a real brand.
Most cars are styled to sell. This one is drawn to last: one silhouette, refined sheet by sheet by the same small studio for sixty years.
OUR STORYOUR STORY →EVERY PRINT SHIPS SIGNED, WITH ITS SHEET NUMBER.
No line goes from a screen straight to the car. Each one passes four stages in the studio, and each stage is signed off before the next begins.
The roofline is drawn by hand on film, at full size, before anyone opens a laptop.
The side view goes up on the studio wall in tape, so we can step back and judge it at 1:1.
Modellers cut the shape in warm clay over a frame, then scan it against the drawing.
Smoke in the tunnel shows where the air leaves the body. Every change goes back on the sheet.
The car sits on a footprint of 4550 by 1900 mm. The four wheels go down first.
The body is drawn around them, then every length is measured twice.
Tap a flag to see the three numbers we check on every plan.
Every part of the car has its own sheet, from the elevations to the brake caliper. Nothing is built until its sheet is signed.
Comment on any sheet and the designer who drew it replies. See each revision, and sign it off before it goes to clay.
BOOK A VIEWING→Every sheet keeps a register: who drew it, each revision, and every stage it passed through on the way to the car.
SEE A SHEET→Four sheets signed off this month. Any of them can be printed at full size and signed for you.
VIEW ALL SHEETSVIEW ALL SHEETS→We draw one car, so every sheet gets the time it needs. Each measurement is written down, then checked again by a second designer.
[SCROLL TO CONTINUE]Notes go straight onto the sheet, next to the arch or gap they apply to.
Before the intake is cut in clay, each vane gets a pivot, a pitch and its link to the one actuator.
A second designer checks each sheet and signs it before it goes to the modellers.
Side, front, rear and from above, all at 1:20.
SEE ELEVATIONS →Lamps, wheels, mirrors and handles, drawn larger so every radius shows.
SEE DETAILS →Airflow over the body, the active wing and the underbody.
SEE AERO →The wheel, the dials, the seat and the selector.
SEE INTERIOR →The flat-six, the brakes and the rear suspension, in section.
SEE MECHANICAL →Any sheet, printed at full size and signed by the designer who drew it.
BOOK A VIEWING →Book a viewing of the drawings and the full-size clay model. A designer will walk you through the sheets.
